The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Illinois Department of Natural Resources and U.S. Geological Survey today released "Asian Carp Distribution in North America," which displays current data on the presence of bighead carp and silver carp at all life stages, as well as black carp and grass carp occurrences, in the Mississippi River, Ohio River and Great Lakes.

Coast Guard, EPA investigate potential for Asian carp to enter Great Lakes in barges

A study conducted by the Coast Guard Research and Development Center in coordination with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency released Thursday concluded that barge ballast tanks present a minimal risk for incidental transport and introduction of Asian carp into the waters of the Great Lakes.

Federal agencies release Asian carp environmental DNA study findings

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and U.S. Geological Survey today released an interim report for the Asian Carp Environmental DNA Calibration Study, which is a three-year study funded through the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative.

Shedd Adds Three Asian Carp Found in Chicago's Humboldt Park Lagoon to Invasive Species Exhibit

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Releases Eagle Marsh Report

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has released the Eagle Marsh Aquatic Nuisance Species Controls Report for public review and comment.  Eagle Marsh, which is located in Fort Wayne, Indiana, has been identified as a potential pathway where aquatic nuisance species may spread between the Mississippi River and Great Lakes basins.
