Follow-up eDNA results announced for Bubbly Creek, Chicago
2020 results are now posted for the eDNA sampling done in follow-up to the high number of positive Asian carp eDNA samples found in the South Fork of the South Branch of the Chicago River in 2019.

Invasive grass carp captured in the Tittabawassee River
During a routine fish survey in the Tittabawassee River below the Dow Dam in Midland County on March 17, Michigan Department of Natural Resources staff captured an invasive grass carp.

Results of Asian carp barge entrainment field trials released
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service released the results of the 2018 Asian carp barge entrainment field trials. The results of the research illustrate that there is a potential for small Asian carp to be inadvertently trapped and transported by commercial barge tows through upstream lock chambers.

More than 50 invasive carp captured on Mississippi River
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is conducting an immediate response to the capture of 51 invasive carp on the Mississippi River. The invasive carp were caught by two commercial fishing operators near La Crosse and Trempealeau, Wisconsin, during routine spring netting last weekend.

Invasive carp eDNA sampling results cause retesting on three Michigan inland lakes
Environmental DNA testing by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service revealed no evidence of genetic material from bighead and silver carp in Houghton Lake in Roscommon County, Long Lake in Hillsdale County or Cass Lake in Oakland County.
