The response monitoring was conducted August 5 through August 19 in Lake Calumet and adjacent waters within the Chicago Area Waterway System.

Invasive silver carp removed from Lake Calumet
The Illinois Department of Natural Resources and the Invasive Carp Regional Coordinating Committee today announced the removal of one silver carp from Lake Calumet in the Chicago Area Waterway System. Lake Calumet is approximately seven miles from Lake Michigan. The fish was captured by gill netting and electro-fishing crews from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
